Islam is the dominating religion in Southern Philippines. Despite its big population, Muslim suffer from different kinds of discrimination and stereotype. Some people have these negative perceptions towards our Muslim brothers and sisters because of what the mainstream media has shown to them. The campaign #IslamNotPhobia raises awareness that there is no reason to find fear from their religion and culture.

In a form of our campaign, which is #IslamNotPhobia, we positively counter hatespeech, not just in our community but the whole audience of social media (facebook, twitter, and instagram). Our team had different ways in countering the social issue. First, we posted a video teaser in our facebook page showing how an individual's corrupted mind can change its view toward the Muslim community. Second, the team had social experiments in the Iligan City, Philippines, to find out how random people or strangers react to Muslims and non-Muslims. Third, we conducted a video and photo contest in social media to ask about others' thoughts about #IslamNotPhobia campaign. And Islam, just like any other religion and culture is beautiful in its own way that is worth to be appreciated and recognized. There is no such thing as discrimination if we unite to understand and respect and live in harmony and peace. We aim to change the corrupted minds of people towards Islam, through spreading positivity and awareness.
