“Hugging is the most beautiful form of communication that allows the other person to know beyond a doubt that they matter” – Dr. Charles Glassman Team Pakigsandurot, an organization which has a mission of breaking barriers between Muslims and Christians conducted a hugging experiment that is in line with their campaign on October 25, 2018. This was conducted at three different places namely, MSU-IIT Lawn, Gaisano Mall Tibanga and Public Plaza in Iligan City to whom 4 people volunteered, which are Muslims and Christians. It is a great opportunity to showcase how people would react if they were to see Muslims or Christians wearing a cardboard written in it that if they are not afraid of them, they would give them a hug, a heart or a highfive. The volunteers, namely Kyle Lucia Dollezon, Joshua Eric Gabutan, Aniyyah Fatmah Guinar and Joshua Vil Pabillar shed in tears and filled with love, excitement and joy as they go on a journey to the places they ought to conduct the experiment. They have had witnessed many people who showed that they were not afraid and as a matter of fact did not neglected them while standing on their post. Christians hugging Muslims and Muslims hugging Christians. There are a lot of ways to show our affection, concern, love and care to another person. The barriers between them are breaking and a thread is slowly connecting. Even if it is just a single action, this small light of appreciation can turn into love, heal wounds, and make peace and understanding to unify as to be great nation.
